Discovering Eelgrass!: Educational activities regarding the interpretation of the biodiversity of an eelgrass bed on the shore of an inland waterway

Description: This educational activity consists of helping youth to discover the universe ofmarine plants that are eelgrass. Using environmentally friendly fishing vessels, specimens are collected, observed, identified and numbered, and are then returned to the water, alive and in the same location. The biodiversity observed increases interest and the desire to conserve its integrity. This acticity has been integrated into the school program as part of the Science and Technology course offered in the first year of high school and the general public is also invited to participate.
