Permanent Exhibition: Territories
The Musée de la civilisation is currently presenting the Territories permanent exhibition, which focuses on the St. Lawrence. This exhibition allows visitors to explore certain themes, such as land occupancy, use of natural resources, the search for nature and adaptation to winter through audiovisual presentations, photographs, objects, artwork and song excerpts. By watching a video presentation, visitors can see spectacular images of the St. Lawrence on the big screen. Entry fees.
River Fanatics – Photography Exhibition
Presentation of the photographs from the winners of the annual photography contest on the St. Lawrence in the magazine Escale nautique. This exhibit, which was presented in 2007 by Environment Canada's Biosphère, under the theme River Fanatics, has been generously lent to us by the Biosphère. Recreational boaters, sailors, fishers, scientists, vacationers and people of all ages are invited to share their love and passion by capturing magic moments with people in action or in harmony on the river.
The St. Lawrence in Good Hands: the common knowledge of the riverside communities of the St. Lawrence
The common knowledge and action of the communities of the St. Lawrence: An exhibition of 14 booths developed in 2005-2006 through a partnership between Environment Canada (St. Lawrence Centre, Biosphère), Stratégies Saint-Laurent and the 14 committees for the areas of prime concern (ZIP, zones d'intervention prioritaire).
The St. Lawrence Under Observation
Some 40 posters created by scientists from all areas present an impressive sampling of the works and studies conducted as part of the final phase of the St. Lawrence Plan. This is a unique collection, the largest of its kind assembled over the 20 years of the existence of the St. Lawrence Plan.
Come on Board the Tri-S and Discover the St. Lawrence
Tri-S exploration is an interactive underwater diving simulation in the St. Lawrence River. Using multimedia, submarine apprentices, recruited from undergraduate classes, will go on board an immense yellow submarine, 15 metres in length and 5 metres high, to discover the wide biodiversity of the St. Lawrence in a 300-metre water column. From invertebrates to molluscs to fish and marine mammals, more than 60 species can be seen via short video excerpts. This deep-sea voyage is a contribution from the maritime historical site of Pointe-au-Père.
