12:00 p.m.  – The St. Lawrence and its Islands – What is “said”, “not said” and what people are saying…

Speaker: André Croteau, Journalist and Author

The "said” is the historical imprint of this wonderful waterway, half a billion years young, the most important entrance way leading to the very heart of the North-American continent. For the “not said”, the author draws upon his best anecdotes from his many meetings with the river and the people whose lives are intimately intertwined with the St. Lawrence. Major frights and strong emotions. Chills guaranteed. The “what people are saying” involves the legends around the history of the river.

As rumours, moral lessons and outlets for deep existential anxiety, legends through their purely ethereal side, are perhaps the most fascinating part of the Great River’s fabulous history.
