Proceedings of the Forum on the St. Lawrence

The Forum brings together stakeholders in the integrated management of the St. Lawrence to engage in discussion in order to share knowledge, expertise, tools and resources and to reflect on the best ways to respond to specific issues. At the 2014 Forum, some 100 participants from environmental, community and recreational not-for-profit groups, private-sector businesses and industries, education and research, First Nations, and federal, provincial and municipal governments were asked to describe the risks and vulnerabilities that affect or concern them regarding climate change, and to reflect together on adaptive actions that could be taken. The 2014 Forum participants developed common directions that will guide stakeholders toward implementation of consistent integrated management initiatives. The participants also translated selected directions into collaborative projects and identified potential partnerships, and some committed to taking concrete action in their respective areas.
